Good Morning Traders! In today's RIPS Morning Memo, we will discuss SPY, QQQ, AAPL, MSFT, NVDA, GOOGL, META, and TSLA.
Our proprietary formula, exclusive to Market Clubhouse, dictates these price levels. This dynamic equation takes into account price, volume, and options flow. These levels are updated every day and shared with all Clubhouse Members, prior to the opening of the market.
We recommend closely monitoring these stocks, and be prepared to leverage potential breakouts or reversals. As always, stay alert and ready to adjust your tactics based on the market's pulse to optimize your trading gains. Now, let's dive into the stock analysis:
SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA: SPY)
SPY is currently trading around 777.25 as bank earnings begin and the cash Treasury market returns from Monday's holiday. If buyers test Monday's low at 777.05 and produce two consecutive five minute closes above it, price may recover toward 777.96, followed by Monday's close at 778.10. Clearing that nearby resistance could bring the 779.40 to 779.42 area into focus, where Monday's and Friday's highs sit together.
If SPY closes below 777.05 and the next five minute candle cannot reclaim it, sellers may press into 776.61. Continued weakness could expose Friday's low at 775.14. Returning above 777.05 would interrupt that downside path. Bank earnings could help SPY hold up better than QQQ, but the useful confirmation is whether strength extends beyond a handful of financial stocks.
Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ: QQQ)
QQQ is currently trading around 741.75 after slipping below Monday's range as semiconductor weakness continues. If buyers reclaim 742.66 and hold above it through the next five minute candle, price may recover toward the 743.22 to 743.23 area. Clearing and defending that resistance could bring Monday's low at 744.85 into focus. The first objective is to repair nearby resistance rather than assume the entire overnight decline will reverse.
If QQQ closes below 741.42 and fails to recover it on the next candle, sellers may test 740.93, followed by 739.46 if pressure builds. Reclaiming 741.42 would weaken that immediate downside scenario. Watch NVDA alongside MSFT and AAPL. A technology rebound would be more convincing if the semiconductor selling begins to ease rather than leaving only a few large names carrying the recovery.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)
AAPL is currently trading around 343.25 with expected smart home product announcements providing a company specific catalyst. Price is already above Monday's high at 342.63, making the first pullback an important test. If that area is tested and buyers produce two consecutive five minute closes above it, a move toward 345.34 may develop. Sustained strength there would extend the recovery while the market assesses the actual product announcements.
If AAPL closes below 342.63 and remains below it on the next five minute candle, sellers may test 341.57, followed by Monday's close at 340.97. A return above 342.63 would interrupt that pullback scenario. Apple is holding up better than the broader Nasdaq this morning, but protecting the breakout through a pullback would provide stronger confirmation than the early price increase alone.
Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT)
MSFT is currently trading around 543.50 after moving above Monday's high at 542.74. That former high now becomes the nearby area buyers need to protect. If a pullback tests 542.74 and produces two consecutive five minute closes above it, the advance could continue. Holding that retest would show that the breakout is gaining support, while an immediate return below the level would leave the early strength vulnerable.
If MSFT closes below 542.74 and cannot recover it on the next candle, sellers may bring Monday's close at 541.15 into focus. Continued weakness could test Monday's late session support at 540.00. Reclaiming 542.74 would weaken that downside path. Microsoft's relative strength remains useful for assessing technology leadership, especially while NVDA and the semiconductor group struggle to stabilize.
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA)
NVDA is currently trading around 224.00 after slipping below Monday's low at 224.90, with reports of growing Chinese competition adding pressure to the semiconductor group. If buyers reclaim 224.90 and maintain two consecutive five minute closes above it, price may recover toward 226.18, followed by Monday's close at 226.32. Holding 224.90 on a subsequent pullback would make that recovery more convincing.
If NVDA remains below 224.90 and closes below the nearby 224.02 reference, sellers may test 223.46, followed by 223.13 if weakness continues. A recovery above 224.02 would interrupt the immediate breakdown, while reclaiming 224.90 would repair more of the overnight damage. The stock is already below Monday's range, so the important question is whether a fresh recovery can hold rather than treating the earlier decline as a new setup.
Alphabet Inc Class A (NASDAQ: GOOGL)
GOOGL is currently trading around 353.50 after finishing Monday higher despite the broader Nasdaq decline. If buyers test 353.22 and produce two consecutive five minute closes above it, price may rotate toward Friday's high at 354.70. Clearing that area and defending the first pullback could bring Monday's high at 356.50 into focus. That sequence would build on Alphabet's recent relative strength.
If GOOGL closes below 353.22 and the next candle fails to recover it, sellers may test Monday's close at 352.72. Continued weakness could bring Monday afternoon's 351.37 swing low into focus, with the session low at 350.50 becoming relevant if the pullback expands. Returning above 353.22 would interrupt that downside path. Watch whether Alphabet can preserve its own progress while QQQ remains under pressure.
Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META)
META is currently trading around 736.75 after pulling back from Monday's strong advance. If buyers reclaim the nearby 738.25 to 738.29 resistance area and hold above its upper boundary through the next five minute candle, price may recover toward 740.45. Continued strength could bring Monday's close at 742.96 into focus. Defending that first reclaimed area would provide a clearer recovery signal than an opening bounce that quickly fades.
If META closes below last Tuesday's low at 736.69 and remains below it on the next candle, sellers may test 735.88. A deeper decline could bring 730.00 into focus, while reclaiming 736.69 would weaken the immediate downside case. Monday's gains leave room for a pullback, but buyers still need to demonstrate support as broader concerns about AI investment weigh on technology sentiment.
Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA)
TSLA is currently trading around 374.75 after slipping below Monday's range. If buyers reclaim Thursday's high at 375.96 and hold above it through the next five minute candle, price may recover toward Monday's low at 377.58, followed by its 378.03 close. A pullback that stays above 375.96 would strengthen that recovery attempt. Returning below it would leave the early rebound vulnerable to another reversal.
If TSLA closes below 374.43 and fails to recover it on the next candle, sellers may test 372.88, followed by 371.07 if pressure continues. Reclaiming 374.43 would interrupt that downside path. Nearby levels matter first, especially after Monday's repeated reversals around support. A break needs follow through before the more distant 368.03 region becomes the main focus.
Final Word: Today's economic calendar brings ADP's weekly employment update at 8:15AM ET and September Existing Home Sales at 10:00AM ET. ADP provides a preliminary reading on private hiring, while housing sales help show how buyers are handling borrowing costs. The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index has already been released, falling to 97.9 from 98.7, with business owners remaining cautious about costs, interest rates and finding qualified workers.
Cash Treasury trading returns after Monday's Columbus Day holiday, restoring fuller participation in the bond market as bank earnings take center stage. Results and management commentary from the major lenders can provide useful clues about consumer spending, borrowing demand and credit conditions. Meanwhile, semiconductor weakness is keeping pressure on QQQ. That leaves room for financial stocks to support SPY while technology follows a different path.
Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin speaks at 1:00PM ET, followed by Boston Fed President Susan Collins at 4:00PM ET with remarks on the economy and banking landscape. Listen for comments that change expectations for inflation, borrowing conditions or future rate policy. The Treasury reaction can help show whether traders view those comments as meaningful rather than simply responding to a headline.
For today, watch participation, stock leadership and whether a break survives the next candle and its first pullback. Levels already crossed overnight need a fresh test before they tell us much about the regular session. September CPI arrives Wednesday at 8:30AM ET, keeping tomorrow's inflation report in focus. Good luck, trade safely, and have a great Tuesday!
