Good Morning Traders! In today's Market Clubhouse Morning Memo, we will discuss SPY, QQQ, AAPL, MSFT, NVDA, GOOGL, META, and TSLA.
Our proprietary formula, exclusive to Market Clubhouse, dictates these price levels. This dynamic equation takes into account price, volume, and options flow. These levels are updated every day and shared with all Clubhouse Members, prior to the opening of the market.
We recommend closely monitoring these stocks, and be prepared to leverage potential breakouts or reversals. As always, stay alert and ready to adjust your tactics based on the market's pulse to optimize your trading gains. Now, let's dive into the stock analysis:
SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA: SPY)
SPY is currently trading around 778.75 as markets head into the final session of the week with another meaningful slate of consumer and inflation related data. Retail Sales at 8:30AM ET will provide an important read on the strength of the U.S. consumer, while Michigan sentiment and inflation expectations at 10:00AM ET create a second potential volatility window. If buyers defend 778.75, a move toward 784.75 may develop, followed by 790.75 if momentum builds. Sustained strength above 796.75 would reinforce the broader bullish structure.
If SPY loses 778.75 with conviction, sellers may press into 772.75. A breakdown there could expose 766.75, while continued weakness may bring the 760.75 region into focus. With Retail Sales arriving before the open and Michigan data shortly after the cash session begins, traders should be prepared for multiple directional shifts rather than assuming the initial move will define the entire day.
Today's price action will also help determine how markets ultimately digest a week that included both CPI and PPI. With another set of inflation expectations arriving this morning, Treasury yields should remain an important confirmation signal for the broader market into the weekend.
Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ: QQQ)
QQQ is currently trading around 733.75 and continues to benefit from strength across large cap technology as markets close out the week. Today's consumer data and inflation expectations could influence Treasury yields and therefore have an outsized impact on growth stocks. If buyers defend this pivot, price may advance toward 740.75, followed by 747.75 if momentum strengthens. Sustained strength above 754.75 would indicate continued institutional demand across technology.
If 733.75 fails to hold, sellers may drive price toward 727.25. A deeper breakdown could expose 720.75, while continued weakness may bring the 714.25 region into play. A strong Retail Sales number could initially support the economic growth narrative, but traders should watch whether higher yields ultimately offset that optimism for rate sensitive technology.
The 10:00AM ET Michigan inflation expectations could be particularly important if they conflict with the narrative established by CPI and PPI earlier this week. Watch QQQ alongside the 10 Year Treasury yield for confirmation of whether technology buyers remain comfortable adding risk.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)
AAPL is currently trading around 305.25 and continuing to consolidate as the broader market trades near elevated levels. If buyers defend this pivot, price may rotate toward 310.50, followed by 315.75 if momentum builds. Sustained strength above 321.00 would indicate improving institutional participation and a stronger recovery attempt.
If 305.25 breaks lower, sellers may test the psychological 300 area quickly. Continued downside pressure could extend into 295.00, while deeper weakness may bring the 290.00 region into focus. Holding above 300 would keep the immediate structure more constructive, while sustained acceptance underneath would weaken the short term outlook.
Relative strength will be important today. If SPY and QQQ advance while AAPL struggles to participate, that divergence could indicate continued stock specific weakness despite a favorable broader market backdrop.
Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT)
MSFT is currently trading around 495.75 and remains just underneath the important psychological 500 level. With technology showing broader strength, today's session could determine whether buyers finally establish acceptance above that threshold or whether 500 continues acting as overhead resistance. If buyers defend 495.75, price may advance toward 503.00, followed by 510.25 if momentum builds. Sustained strength above 517.50 would signal renewed institutional sponsorship.
If 495.75 fails to hold, sellers may press into 488.75. A deeper pullback could test 481.75, while continued weakness may bring the 474.75 region into play. The reaction around 500 should remain one of the clearest short term sentiment gauges for MSFT.
A breakout above 500 accompanied by strength in QQQ and stable or declining Treasury yields would provide stronger confirmation than an isolated move in the stock.
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA)
NVDA is currently trading around 226.00 and continues to demonstrate relative strength as semiconductors remain an important source of technology leadership. If buyers defend this pivot, a move toward 233.25 may develop, followed by 240.50 if momentum strengthens. Sustained trade above 247.75 would indicate continued upside expansion and reinforce semiconductor leadership.
If 226.00 fails to hold, sellers may test 220.00 quickly. Continued downside could extend into 214.00, while deeper weakness may bring the 208.00 region into focus. NVDA's ability to maintain recent momentum should provide an important read on overall risk appetite within QQQ.
With Retail Sales and Michigan inflation expectations capable of moving yields, watch whether NVDA confirms the broader technology reaction. Strong participation from semiconductors would make an index rally more convincing, while weakness despite QQQ strength could signal narrowing leadership.
Alphabet Inc Class A (NASDAQ: GOOGL)
GOOGL is currently trading around 346.75 and attempting to stabilize after a period of notable weakness. If buyers defend this level, price may rotate toward 353.25, followed by 359.75 if momentum improves. Sustained strength above 366.25 would indicate a more meaningful recovery and improving institutional participation.
If 346.75 fails to hold, sellers may guide price toward 340.75. A breakdown there could expose 334.75, while continued weakness may bring the 328.75 region into play. The stock remains an important relative strength test given the stronger performance elsewhere in large cap technology. Traders should watch whether a favorable macro backdrop finally attracts buyers into GOOGL. Continued underperformance while QQQ advances would suggest that stock specific selling pressure remains more important than broader technology sentiment.
Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META)
META is currently trading around 595.00 and once again approaching the psychologically important 600 level. If buyers defend this pivot and reclaim 600, a push toward 602.50 may develop, followed by 610.00 if momentum builds. Sustained strength above 617.50 would indicate renewed institutional accumulation and improve the short term structure.
If 595.00 breaks lower, sellers may guide price toward 588.00. A deeper pullback could test 581.00, while continued weakness may bring the 574.00 region into focus. The battle around 600 should provide an important indication of whether buyers are regaining control after the recent pullback.
A clean reclaim and acceptance above 600 would be more meaningful if accompanied by broader QQQ strength. Repeated rejection from the area could instead keep META trapped in its recent consolidation.
Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA)
TSLA is currently trading around 342.75 and showing improving momentum after reclaiming several important short term levels. If buyers defend this pivot, a move toward 351.25 may develop, followed by 359.75 if momentum continues. Sustained strength above 368.25 would indicate stronger speculative participation and continued improvement in the short term structure.
If 342.75 fails to hold, sellers may test 334.75 quickly. Continued downside pressure could extend into 326.75, while deeper weakness may bring the 318.75 region into play. After the recent advance, traders should watch whether pullbacks continue attracting buyers or begin producing deeper retracements.
TSLA frequently amplifies broader risk sentiment, so today's consumer data and subsequent market reaction could produce larger than average intraday swings. Holding above the mid 330s would keep the recent recovery structure more constructive.
Final Word: Today's economic calendar closes out the week with a solid slate of data focused heavily on the U.S. consumer and inflation expectations. July Advance Retail Sales arrive at 8:30AM ET alongside Retail Sales Ex Auto, Ex Auto and Gas, and the closely watched Retail Sales Control Group. The control group is particularly important because it feeds into calculations of consumer spending within GDP. With consumer activity remaining a critical component of the economic growth outlook, a meaningful surprise could quickly influence expectations for growth, Treasury yields, and Federal Reserve policy.
The second major volatility window arrives at 10:00AM ET with Preliminary University of Michigan Sentiment, Current Conditions, Expectations, and both one year and five to ten year inflation expectations. After markets spent the week digesting CPI and PPI, these inflation expectation readings provide another important piece of the inflation puzzle. A meaningful move higher in expectations could challenge the disinflation narrative even if recent inflation reports were constructive, while softer expectations could reinforce confidence that longer term inflation pressures remain contained. Business Inventories and the Philly Fed Survey of Professional Forecasters will also be released at 10:00AM ET.
Today's data also provides an important final test of the economic narrative established throughout the week. Retail Sales can tell traders whether consumers remain willing and able to spend, while Michigan sentiment provides insight into how households actually feel about economic conditions and future inflation. A strong consumer combined with contained inflation expectations could be interpreted differently than strong spending accompanied by rising inflation expectations, making the relationship between the individual reports more important than simply whether each headline beats or misses expectations.
With major data arriving both before and after the opening bell, traders should be prepared for two distinct periods of volatility at 8:30AM and 10:00AM ET. Treasury yields should remain an important confirmation signal as markets determine how today's reports fit alongside this week's CPI and PPI data. Friday positioning and profit taking could add another layer of volatility later in the session as traders close out the week. Good luck, trade safely, and have a great weekend!
